Walter Bryan Estes, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at White Oak Estates.

Born August 13, 1922, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Bryan Estes, Sr. and Mary (Webber) Estes.

A retired welder at Cape Canaveral, FL, and a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Merritt Island, FL, and attended Converse Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nona Mae (Jolly) Estes; three daughters, Polly Ann Giles of Spartanburg, Debbie Betscher of Arlington, VA, and Kathy McAuliffe of Titusville, FL; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Cryptside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Daniel Godfrey.

The family received friends following the service at the cryptside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Converse Baptist Church Bus Fund, P. O. Box 159, Converse, SC 29329.
