Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Minnie Wallace Austin and was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
Jeanne was a life member of Parsons Primitive Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Church Choir and Ladies Aid, as well as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
In recent years, Jeanne was a member of the Kingston Active Adult Center. One of her greatest joys was summer vacations with her family on Long Beach Island, N.J. A great passion was sharing ice cream and chocolate with those she loved, but her true sweetness was evident to all.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1992; and daughters, Linda Chapple and Robin Parry.
Surviving are her children, sons, Jeffrey Acornley and his wife, Sandy, Parsons; and Scott Acornley, Oreland; daughter, Lisa Carroll and her husband, Ken, Parsons; and son, Bryan Acornley, King of Prussia. Also surviving are her sons-in-law, David Chapple and David Parry; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Andy Jerome, pastor, Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, officiating.
Entombment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
