Eliza's mother was Emmeline Ramey. Barbara was the great granddaughter of James Eakin and Athelia Bledsoe, daughter of Abraham Bledsoe, the Long Hunter. James Eakin owned property on Timber Tree Branch that Eliza's McMurray father bought from the Larkey family.
James Eakin's father was Andrew Eakin, a fur and skin trader and his mother was Letitia Mahon (Mehan). The Eakin family settled in Paxtang TWP PA in 1735, immigrating from Ballynahinch, County Down, Ulster.
