CARL MARTIN OBITUARY
Carl Everet Martin of Bellingham, WA, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 in Bellingham. Carl was 84, born in Albion, CA on October 13, 1923 to Frank and Hilda Martin. He grew up in Fort Bragg, CA and after graduation he served in the US Navy during WWII as a radio technician. On January 25, 1946, Carl married Joyce B. Knutsen at Central Lutheran Church. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Greyhound Bus Lines and then for Mobil Oil for 30 years as an instrument technician. Carl enjoyed fishing, golf, and bowling where he attained his nick name of "Waxy". He loved spending time bar-b-queing salmon and entertaining with family and friends on Lummi Island. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Joyce of 57 years and is survived by 2 sons, Daniel (Sue) Martin, Steve (Bonnie) Martin; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Eric, Andy, Casey and Amy; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Art (Marita) Martin from Orangevale, CA, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1-C, Bellingham, 98225. A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m., Monday, July 7th at Bayview Cemetery.
