OBITUARY
Julia Mercer, daughter of Mideon and Malinda Mercer, was born at Mexico, Mo., January 1, 1861 and passed away at the home of her son Winifred Hoyt near Burwell, Nebraska, May 18, 1935, having reached the age of 74 years, 4 months and 18 days.
While a small child she moved with her parents to Elliott, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood.
On April 12, 1877, she was united in marriage to George L. Hoyt at Red Oak, Iowa and to this union six sons were born, German D. of Ord, Nebr.; Forrest Earl of Fort Laramie, Wyo.; Mideon Bernard of Elyria, Nebr.; and Winifred Burdette of Burwell, Nebr. Clifford Eugene passed away at the age of eight years and Wilbur Raymond at one year of age. Her husband also preceded her in death January 14, 1926. Her only sister, Mrs. E. Mercer passed away at Goodland, Kansas only two days prior to the death of Mrs. Hoyt.
She leaves to mourn her death her four sons and their wives, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Burwell, Nebraska Monday afternoon in charge of Lyman Kern. Burial was in the family lot in the Ord cemetery.
