Isaac Taylor was the son of Isaac Chadwick Taylor and Ellen Taylor (nee Ball), of 269A Ormond Rd., Whataupoko, Gisborne. Served in Egypt, at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. He suffered from severe shell shock and on return home to live with his family he endured marked depression. Four brothers and a brother in law served in 2 Wars. During the Anglo-Boer War: the elder George Frederick William Taylor (2709, 5434) embarked twice; his brother Sadler W. Percy Taylor (5179) and their brother in law F. Parker (2508) also served in South Africa. The younger brothers Isaac Chadwick Taylor (10/2332) and Charles Taylor (25/145) joined up for WW1 and they both died. Source: Cenotaph.
