Patricia (Pat) Ann Tammen, formerly of Farmer City, passed away peacefully at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana on Wednesday (June 22, 2016).

Pat was born in Le Mars, Iowa on Aug. 4, 1935. She married Virgil Dean Tammen on Nov. 20, 1955 in Craig, Iowa. He died Nov. 11, 1976.

Survivors include her daughter, Valorie Patricia (Steve) Curl; her sons, Vance Virgil Tammen and Alan John (Anna) Tammen; her grandchildren, Matthew (Jayme) Curl, Jeffrey (Bridget) Curl, Zachary (Brittany) Tammen, Gregory (Rachel) Curl, Jacob (Kristi) Tammen and Michelle Curl; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Oina VanderFeen; sisters-in-law, Ardis Rozell and Janice (Bill) Renken; one brother-in-law, Rodney (Rhonda) Tammen and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Eldo and Isabella Baack; her brothers, Orville Baack and Emory Baack; her sister, Connie Baker; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Morgan and her granddaughter, Yarra Tammen.

Pat graduated in 1953 from Milford High School, Milford, Iowa, where she was the class valedictorian and homecoming queen. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 55, Farmer City. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and quilt making, spending time with her grandchildren - always keeping up with their activities, traveling and volunteering for church events and at her legion Post 55.
