CLAUDE — Rex Aduddell, 75, of Claude died Wednesday, June 22, 2016.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers of Claude.

Rex was born Dec. 29, 1940, in Clarendon to William Edward and Pearlie Aduddell. Rex attended schools in Clarendon and Claude. He married Jeannie on Aug. 29, 1959, in Memphis and they raised their children in Claude.

Among his many talents, Rex worked as a carpenter and a millwright. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was very artistic, which he demonstrated through his painting, jewelry making and other metal and wood arts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie; three brothers, Bill, Bob and Danny; a sister, Jerre Bretthauer; a granddaughter, Candice Leigh Feland.

Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Kelley of Claude and Sharla Matthews and husband Dean of Panhandle; two sons, Bret Aduddell and wife Kira of Fort Collins, Colo., and Tom Edd Aduddell of Amarillo; two brothers, Tex Aduddell of Matheson, Colo., and Dee Adduddell of Claude; six sisters, Nita Short of Colorado Springs, Colo., June Tucker of Walsenburg, Colo., Joyce Cagle of Strasburg, Colo., Cinda Shuping of Hamlin, Glenda Chenault of Canyon and Marie Shipley of Aurora, Colo.; seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Kimber, Nathan, Trena, Jonathan, Janéy and December; and 13 great-grandchildren, Dominick, Donovan, Marie, Macie, Anika, Shamara, Callie, Kyree, Trudy, Benjamin, Drake, Lillie Austin and Tilly.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Claude Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 189, Claude, TX 79019 or Claude EMT Association, P.O. Box 289, Claude, TX 79019.

A gathering of family and friends will be in the home at 100 N. Cherry St. in Claude.
