Funeral for Bud T. Brooks, 73, of Athens rt 1, was recently conducted by Orvil Kirby, Jack Wood and Frank Williams. Burial was in Hasting Cemetery, Rainey Funeral home of Ardmore directing. Mr. Brooks died January 9 at Athens Limestone hospital.
He is survived by the widow; one son, Walter Brooks, Elkmont, Rt. 1; two daughters, Dezzie Dutton (sic Dezzie Dalton), Rossville, Ga., and Mildred Russell, Athens Rt. I; one brother, Lesh (sic Tish) Brooks, Wales, Tenn; four sisters, Mattie Tatum, Mannie (sic Mammie) Brewer, Della Gurthie, all of Athens, and Pearly Vining, Elkmont Rt. 1; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
