Mrs. Mary Sims Shepherd Baker, 85, a resident of Brighton Gardens, died Wednesday morning at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Baker was born in Winston-Salem on April 18, 1915, the daughter of the Rev. E.T. and Sarah Hunter Sims. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and retired as head of the reception center at Old Salem. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth A. Shepherd and L. Thomas Baker. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kay L. Shepherd. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Shepherd Brown and husband, Dalton Brown, of Tucker, Ga.; a sister, Ruth Carter and husband, Frederick, of Winston-Salem and a brother, Robert H. Sims of Charlotte. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vogler's Main Street Chapel by the Rev. James Woodring. The family will receive friends after the service and requests that any memorials be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
