Doris Ann Bobo Lamanac passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2016. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends in her home she loved so well.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Pete Martin and Rev. Vernie Worley officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.

Doris was the third child of Mae and Amos Bobo, and she was born on October 19, 1937. She attended Big Springs School and Canton High and resided on Mountain Road for the entirety of her life. Doris and Millard were married for over 61 years, and their steadfast love became a comfort not only to one another, but to everyone who knows them. They were lifelong members of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Doris lived a life of service in the truest sense, always willing to bear someone else’s burden to lighten the load. She offered a kind smile, a listening ear, and words of encouragement to everyone who knew her. She nurtured plants as well as she nurtured people, and in 1985, she opened D&M Greenhouses. Her loving touch extended even further through her business of selling flowers and vegetables, and her customers came to value both her plant expertise and her friendship.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Mae and Amos Bobo, her brothers, Wesley Bobo and James Bobo, and son-in-law, Timothy Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Millard Lamanac; her children, her grandchildren, her greatgrandchildren, a brother, sister, sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews; and countless friends who loved her well.
