Harold's years of ministry influenced and changed many lives. At the same time, his enjoyment of the outdoors and God's creation was part of his fiber. He was often leading wilderness trips for youth, hunting, fishing, Boy Scout Troop leader, and all the while balancing his love for people with his love for nature. When Harold and Gladys moved their family to Florida just over 50 years ago it begin to expand with the addition of six grandchildren: Donovan Tinsley, Michelle Williams, David Tinsley, Mark Jerkins, Lisa Tinsley, Daniel Tinsley. Papa T became an important part of their lives as he shared and mentored as well as his love for the outdoors and Jesus. The family continued to grow with the addition of 10 great grandchildren: Corey, Cody, Cheyenne, Tommy, Ethan, Drew, Kaleigh, Cooper, Colby, Emma, and two great great grandchildren Waylon, and McKenna.
Harold loved Florida, his family, and his church home. He brought joy into many people's lives through hospital visitations while finding time for his golfing buddies, family, hunting fishing partners, and even found some time to trap nuisance alligators with his son. His love for life was contagious and will be his legacy.
Always ready with a kind word and to share his love for Christ made Harold the perfect greeter at any door, but especially on Sunday Nights at Victory Church, his second home. The same attribute applied to making him a good golfing, fishing or gym workout partner to the very end of his journey on earth.
Services will be held at Victory Church Chapel on Griffin Road on Thursday June 30th, 2016. The 1:30 p.m. service administered by Reverend Wayne Blackburn will be preceded by a viewing and celebration of life reception from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. also at the church.
