Mabel Nini Gilmore, 92, a native of Berwick and a resident of Bourg, died Sunday June 26, 2016.

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Boquet and husband, Malcolm, Cindy Jones and husband, Wayne, and Tammy Gilmore-Credeur; two sons, Selwyn "Sonny" Gilmore and wife, Kathy, and Barry Gilmore and wife, June; one sister, Annabell Nini Angeron; grandchildren, Lori Beliceik, Malcolm Boquet Jr., Nikki Pellegrin, Maria Theriot, Jerry Jon Gilmore, Alison Theriot, Matthew Gilmore, Todd Credeur Jr., and Kacey Jones; great-grandchildren, Jamie Picou, Kimberly LeBlanc, Justin and Joshua Boquet, Dain and Jacob Pellegrin, Abby and Drew Theriot, Elizabeth and Preston Gilmore, Rebecca, Isabella, Emmalyn, Preston and Brennan Theriot, Macie Gilmore, and Colin Richardson; and great-great-grandchildren, Madibaya, Madiana, Marissa, Blaze and Sky Picou, Brayden Curry, Kyler LeBlanc, Julius and Trinity Boquet, Ellie, Isaac and a little Boquet on the way, and Allie Pellegrin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Selwyn "Sebby" Gilmore; parents, Wicklif and Lydia Guidry Nini; brothers, Homer, Tilton and Hansel Nini; and sister, Myrtle Nini Bourdeaux.

Mable was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society and worked faithfully alongside her husband with the Catholic Charity Program. She also gave back to her community by coordinating with the Council on Aging and the Meals on Wheels Program for the elderly in Bourg. Her home serves as its home base still today.

Mabel was a faith filled woman of God who cherished her family and friends deeply. She was an Angel on earth and now our Angel in heaven.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Haydel Hospice and their dedicated staff and Dr. Brian Matherne.
