A Large congregation of friends and relatives paid their final respects yesterday to Bascom D. Cranshaw, Sr. 69, who died Wednesday at the Columbia Hospital after an illness of several weeks.

The funeral services were held from the Shandon Presbyterian Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Fred V. Poag. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. The beautiful floral tributes attested to the high esteem in which Mr. Cranshaw was held.

Mr. Cranshaw, who was formerly of Atlanta, lived at 1103 Woodrow Street. He had lived in Columbia for 40 years and at the time of his death was employed by Bond Equipment Company. He was formerly employed by the Southern Scales and Refrigeration Company.

Mr. Cranshaw was an elder in Shandon Presbyterian Church and was superintendent of the Sunday School.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Blanton Cranshaw; two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Weed and Mrs. A. M. Brown, both of Columbia; two sons, B. D. Cranshaw, Jr., of Columbia and M. B. Cranshaw of Washington, D. C.; two sisters, Pearl C. Cranshaw and Mrs. M. A, Brays of Atlanta, Ga., two brothers, Grady C. Cranshaw of Atlanta and J. Purvis Cranshaw of Smyrna, Ga.; and 11 Grandchildren.
