Gerald married Anita Brockmeyer on Feb. 24, 1938. They were the parents of Dean and Jerry Louise. After working on the railroad, they returned to Marysville KS and bought the Stewart Monument Company from Gerald's father. They retired in 1977. Gerald liked to read and bowl. He used to read to me before bed every night when I was little and I developed a great love of books.
Gerald is a direct descendent of Isaac Allerton, first Assistant of Plymouth Colony. Isaac and his family arrived on December 21, 1620 on the Mayflower and Isaac was the eighth person to sign the Mayflower Compact before leaving the ship.
