Joseph “Joe” Robert Grant, 50, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away at his home on June 29, 2016. Joe was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1966, son of the late Robert and Louise Weiss.
Joe graduated from Craigmont High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He made a career out of his service in the United States Navy, retiring as Chief Electronics Technician on September 1, 2014. He and his wife were recently attending Greenway Spirit and Word Fellowship in Stephens City. He was a lifetime member of the Berryville VFW Post 9760. He was also a member of the “Conrad-Hoover” American Legion Post 21 in Winchester. Joe loved to go shark fishing down in Florida, to eat calamari, and to hang out down at the VFW Post and the American Legion Post. He was a Cardinals, Steelers and Ravens fan. He loved to walk along the beaches by the ocean down in Florida. Most of all, Joe loved all of his family.
Joe married Linda Sharp on November 16, 2011. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Robert Epstein of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren, Mariah Lynn Epstein, Georgia Mae Epstein, Joseph Robert Epstein, Jr.; sister, Kathryn Simpson and husband, Herb of Bartlett, Tennessee; and a niece, Candice Simpson of Oakland, Tennessee.
Joe’s family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, July 5, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service for Joe will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
