Roger (Archie) Orchekowski, age 79, of 2822 11th St., Two Rivers, died Wednesday evening, June 29, 2016, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.
Roger was born March 28, 1937 in Manitowoc, son of the late Harry and Clara (Havlichek) Orchekowski. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1955. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. On May 2, 1959, he married Nancy Henrickson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Archie was employed at Hamilton Mfg. Co. for many years, retiring in March of 1999. He served several years on the School Board of Roncalli High School, served as co-president of the Roncalli Athletic Association and the Sacred Heart Athletic Council; and served as an usher at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish for many years. Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards with various card clubs, and was a huge sports fan who especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randal and Lynne Orchekowski of Delton, Michigan, Dr. Michael and Deanna Orchekowski of Reedsville; special nephew: Christopher (Michelle) LeClair of Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Erin and Benjamin Orchekowski; special nieces: Haley and Kayla; and a grand niece, Reese. He is further survived by a brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Kris Orchekowski of Milwaukee and three brothers-in-law, Lenny (Yvonne) Henrickson, Tom (Jeanine) Henrickson, all of Two Rivers, and Philip Henrickson (special friend, Cheryl) of Mishicot; along with other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou LeClair and Majel Henrickson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment to follow at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
