Yoshima Gem Abe
     CALDWELL - Services for Yoshima Gem Abe, 64, Route 5, Caldwell, who died Friday in Pocatello while visiting with relatives, will be conducted at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. I. L. Shaver, retired Methodist missionary to Japan, will officiate. Place of interment is pending.
     Mr. Abe was born Aug. 21, 1901, in Fukuoka, Japan, and came to the United States Aug. 10, 1917. He located in Nampa, and married March 4, 1924, in Glenns Ferry to Louise Toshiko Okazawa. The couple operated a restaurant with Harry Kunio Yamoaka in Baker, Ore., until 1939, when they returned to Idaho and farmed in the Nampa and Caldwell area.
     He was a member of the Community Methodist Church of Ontario.
     Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Abe, are three sons, Albert Abe, Portland, Fred Abe with the U. S. Army in Viet Nam, and Mike Abe, Pocatello; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Sato, Pocatello and Miss Polly Ann Abe, of Twin Falls; his stepmother, residing in Japan; and nine grandchildren.
