Son of Leo Watts Butler and Olive Elnora Richardson.

Windy served in the US Navy when he was just 14 years old, and again in the US Army during World War II, and is listed in the DAR World War II Book of Rememberance.


He first married Esther May Land and then Ann Ilene Patton. After the war he worked for the Board of Education for the Los Angeles City Schools.

He was survived by four children, twins Jacqueline Rolene, Douglas Maurice Butler and two others.
