Louis Waldschmidt of Benton Passes Away
Louis Waldschmidt, 69 years old, of Benton, a retired lumber buyer, died at the family home Saturday night at 7:25 o'clock following an illness of eight months.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Walther Funeral Home with Rev. Harry F. Coder of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Cairo, in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Waldschmidt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Waldschmidt; three, daughters, Mrs. Joseph Simmers of Laconia, N. H., Mrs. Houston Ramsey of Algiers, La., and Mrs. Lester P. Miller of Benton; a sister, Mrs George T. Porter of Murphysboro, Ill., and three grandchildren.
Born at Cairo, Ill., March 1, 1882, Mr. Waldschmidt was married to Margaret McKamie in 1922. He had resided at Benton the past 29 years going there from Cairo. The pallbearers will be Louis Lumpkins, Sherrill Kinser, Omer George, Milam Winders, NV. C. Angle and Glenn Proctor.
