Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Margaret Coleman Smith, age 87, of Twin City on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at her residence.

Graveside services will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the Coleman Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Dewitt Corbin officiating.

Mrs. Smith was born November 5, 1928 in Swainsboro to the late Hugh and Winnie Smith Coleman. She was an educator and homemaker. A member of the Twin City First Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School Class, she was a avid gardener, affectionately known as the "Rose Lady", was a member of the Glad Garden Club locally and was a past State Garden Club officer. Mrs. Smith served on the Board of Directors for the East Georgia State College for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam F. Smith, and brother, Hobson Coleman.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Farrar Smith and Kimberly A. Fong (Gilbert), both of Atlanta, and a grandson, Koby Fong of Atlanta.
