Marvin grew up in Booton, W.Va., where he turned down a baseball scholarship at Marshall University to work in the family business, Wetzel Adkins Grocery, until 1972 when the Beech Fork Lake project acquired the land. He drove a bus and then went in business for himself: trucking, real estate and farming. He was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ and Deacon for many years. He was an avid outdoorsmen, a Cincinnati Reds/Bengals fan and a proud supporter of the Wayne Pioneers. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed. While the family welcomes flowers they ask that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington and The Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Martino and Ministers Ronnie Ross and Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
