LANCASTER
The Rev. Sherman O. Adams, 86, of Danville Street died Sunday at his home after an illness. Born Oct 22, 1906, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Mattie Ross Adams. He was a retired Baptist minister and evangelist and had served in the ministry for 60 years in Garrard, Madison and other counties in Kentucky and Ohio. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Laverne Prewitt Adams; two daughters, Faye Wilburn of Crab Orchard and Mae Harp of London; a sister, Lucille Snapp of Winchester; seven grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Arlon Davis and Paul Sowders. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe McElroy, Lafayette Shelton, George Lee Shelton, the Rev. Paul Sowders, Ronnie Maupin and Dan Gutenson. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Tuggle, Charles Gray, Joey Bunch, Doug Hurley, Jim Steele, Frankie Wilburn and Darrell Wilburn. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today.
