Carol was born on September 13, 1968 in Manitowoc to Thomas and Judith Ploederl Dokey. She was a special needs child and loved by so many. Carol enjoyed looking at magazines, watching TV, eating her favorite foods and loved to color. She was blessed with the opportunity to be able to travel with her family to places such as Alaska and Germany while her father was serving in the United States Army. Carol always enjoyed visiting mom and dad on most weekends, and seeing her family over the holidays. But she always looked forward to going “home” to Rainbow House where she was a resident since 1992.
Survivors include Carol’s parents: Tom and Judy Dokey, Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas J. (Sandra) Dokey, Valders, and Douglas (Tracie) Dokey, Manitowoc; nephew: Devan; five nieces: Megan, Ashlynn, Stephanie, Madelyn, and Kirsten; also an uncle, aunts, cousins and many other friends. Carol was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Ervin and Violet Ploederl; paternal grandparents: Robert and Georgine Dokey; four uncles; two aunts; and two cousins.
A Life Celebration Social will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Carol’s cremated remains to be at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
