On July 27, 2013, he was united in marriage to the former Angela Norrington in Caro. Throughout his working career, Alan first worked in construction on various crews and later, until his death he worked in various shops, most recently as a lathe operator. He loved hunting and fishing, was a great little league baseball coach, loved watching and playing sports with his sons and was a NASCAR freak for Ernhardt and Jr.
He is survived by his wife; Angela Norrington-Skinner, four children; Tre Selling and Dale Skinner of Akron, Austin Skinner and Adrian Skinner of Gaylord, His twin brother Alex & Kori Skinner of Caro, sister Anna Skinner of Caro, his in-laws, Sharon Norrington of Jackson, John Norrington & Gloria Van Klompenberg of Manistique, Steve & Kammi Norrington of Ringle Wisconsin, Amie Norrington and Mike Estey of Jackson, step siblings, Janice & Matt Chittle of Negaunee, Jennifer Richardson of Lansing, Jillian Oestrike of Farmington, twelve nieces and nephews, Josh, Tyler, Kyle, Jordan, Trenton, Emily, Bella, Owen, William, Isabella, Henry, and Benjamin, his grandmothers, Betty Suranye and Betty Norrington, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Jim Hill officiating.
