Eberhard Rebling was a member of the Resistance in the Netherlands during WW2.
He fled Germany in 1935 and refused to serve for Germany when he was called to do so and through this became a deserter.
When they finally arrested him July 1944 he was almost shot but Janny Brilleslijper, his sister-in-law, saved him.
After the war, in 1946, he married Rebekka Brilleslijper, Lin Jaldati, and in 1952 they moved to East Germany.
Before 1946 they were not allowed to marry due to certain rules for jews and not jews.
