Daughter of Francis Dearth Stephen and Tamzon Bunting

Married Thomas Jefferson Mercer on 8 May 1859 in Noble County, Ohio

The attached picture is of her standing beside her husbands headstone, along with two of her daughters Louella and Emma, shortly after he was buried in 1911 and the day the stone was set on his grave.

I was told by her grandson and my great-uncle Forrest Arthur Mercer that he had the stone put on her grave several years after she died and why it looks so new. Uncle Art as we called him was also the one that gave the picture to my mother you see here. It is actually a postcard taken with one of the old camera's that were able to make them. It's was never addressed or mailed but is very brittle and why some of the pieces to it are missing.

I know there were some given to her other children that show slightly different backgrounds, I think it's her son Horace's family that has one with the workers with their shovels that set the stone showing in the background and why we know they were taken the same day the stone was put on.

Art was married to Madeline Louise Branson shown in my profile.

Update: Oct 27, 2014 - I have been able to find the memorials of four more of their children, John William, Julia Albert, Oliver Perry and Horace Virgil, besides the three already attached and have sent edits to have them connected. That will only leave, Emma, Sadie and Bertha May to find.
