Carrie Ida Hartley, the youngest of three daughters, was born Feb 17, 1888 in Claude, Texas, to Henry Alexander Hartley and Mary Ella Taylor. Shortly after birth, her Mother died leaving her father, and his sister, Dora, to care for the young children. On the 25th of September 1905 Carrie married Grover Edward Guthrie.
