With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army. He was owner of Polk Realty from 1978 to 1980 and a past president of Warner Robins American Little League from 1980 to 1983. After selling cars at Eddie Wiggins Ford and Charlie Pike Chevrolet, he became a self-employed life insurance agent. His brothers, Frank and Bill Polk, and parents, Josiah I. Polk and Sara Jenkins Polk, preceded him in death. -His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Polk; daughters, Charlotte Little (Gary), Buford, and Terri Gruenenfelder (Doug), Gainesville; son, Benjamin H. Polk, Warner Robins; brothers, Joe Polk, Douglas, and Dan Polk, Brunson, South Carolina; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. -Visitation will be Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at McCullough Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
