Jesse Jackson Burns, age 95, of Pampa, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997.
Born March 2, 1901 in Sims, Arkansas, his family later moved to Oklahoma. He married Goldie Keys November 12, 1936 in Pocasset, OK where they lived until 1950. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1996. In 1950, they moved to Quail with their four younger children.
Mr. Burns farmed in the Quail area until his retirement. He has been a resident of Pampa since 1974. He was active in the Assembly of God Church in Wellington and then later became a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Pampa.

Survivors include four sons: Herman Burns of Madera, CA; Jesse Burns of Flatonia; Herschel Burns of Pampa and Dwight Burns of Plainview; Two daughters: Rachel Bartlett of Stockton, CA and Doralean Darnell of Amarillo; one step-son, Bob Hudson of Mack, CO;
Three brothers: Elmer Burns of Lathrop, CA; Leonard Burns of Cement, OK and Tally Bums of Chickasha, OK; A sister, Lona Daniels of
Shafter, CA; 28 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William Burns and nine brothers.
