Bray - JIMMY FRANKLIN McCARLEY, 62, of Bray, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006, in Lawton.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Marlow with the Rev. Dan Palesano officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Jimmy was born Oct. 13, 1944, in South San Francisco, Calif., to Walter B. and Mary Clarice Cox McCarley. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1963. He attended Cameron University for three years. Jim joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era. He was also a member of the National Guard for five years.
He grew up in Lawton and later moved to Marlow. He lived in Georgia for seven years before moving to Bray in 1997. Jim was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Marlow and the American Legion.
He enjoyed surfing the net, crossword puzzles, cards, reading, watching game shows and being with his grandchildren. Jim also enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting trees and flowers.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Bicking of Duncan; two stepdaughters, Michelle Crisp of Del City, and Dana Hernandez and husband Ramiro of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepson, Jeremy and wife Tara of Comanche; 15 grandchildren, Matthew, Jamie, Kymberlynn, Harley, Hunter, Orion, Stephen, Aaron, Alex, Marissa, Victoria, Haleigh, Jeremy Jr., Kelsie and Joelie; a great-grandchild, Destiny; his mother, Mary Clarice Cox McCarley of Marlow; five brothers, Roy McCarley and Gary McCarley, both of Lawton, Walter McCarley and wife Linda of Duncan, Jerry McCarley and wife Carol of Rush Springs, and Dennis McCarley and wife Marla of Yucaipa, Calif.; five sisters, Janie Winfree and husband Jimmy, and Chrissie Ray and husband Rayburn, all of Lawton, Tina Kuntz and husband Kenneth of Sterling, Sherry Underwood and husband Bob of Weatherford, Texas, and Debbie Ervin and husband Terry of Spur, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Crisp; his father, Walter B.; a brother, Paul McCarley; and a sister, Doreen Weeks.
Bearers will be Greg Cummings, Roger Cummings, Duane Shelton, Kenny Walden, Tom Andrews and Jim Rupp.
