John (Smiley) Ratajczak, age 67, of 984 Laduron Dr., Mishicot, passed away
Sunday, January 24, 1999, at the Appleton Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Janaury 28,
1999, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, with the Rev. John Neuser
officiating. Burial in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
John was born February 3, 1931, in Kewaunee County, son of the late John and
Agnes Tadisch Ratajczak. He was a graduate of the Kewaunee High School, class
of 1948 and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He
married the former Betty Jane Walechka September 26, 1959 at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Norman. He was a volunteer Red Corss driver and was a member
of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, where he served as a Eucharistic
Minister. He was employed for 39 years at Fisher Hamilton, in Two Rivers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jan; six daughters and four sons-in-law,
Dawn and Pat Priblyl, Sussex, Denise and Ray Tweedale, Richfield, Debra and Kent
Michels, Oshkosh, Deanna Ratajczak, Menasha, Diane and Pat Fencl, Mishicot,
Darlene Ratajczak, Mequon; nine grandchildren, Sarah and Melissa Tweedale, Jonathan,
William and Dawn Michels, Karen, Melissa, Julia and Zachary Fencl; one sister,
Leona Haen, Luxemburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Gladys Ratajczak;
his mother-in-law, Evelyne Walechka, Norman; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Larry and Beverly Walechka, Kewaunee. John is also survived by nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law,
Laddie Walechka and a brother-in-law, Donald Haen.
Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday
and in the morning on Thursday before leaving for the church at 10:30 a.m. There
will be a 7:300 p.m. parish wake service Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
John enjoyed playing cards, bowling and spending time with his family, especially
his grandchildren.
