Suggested edit: Dr. James Allan Adkison was formerly stationed at Dyess, AFB. He was discharged in June 1964 when he opened his office for the practice of optometry in association with Dr. Grady B. Jolly and Dr. Jimmy W. McNeil. Dr. Adkison completed professional work at the University of Oklahoma and received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was engaged to Miss Sue McCarty of Littleton, Colorado, a senior nursing student at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Abilene.

Survived by his mother - Mrs. William Etheridge; one brother - Mike Adkison.
