One of Two Living Charter Members of A. O. H. Div.

Patrick J. Lawless, 74, of 125 Plantation street, one of two living charter members of the original Div. 36, A. O. H., died yesterday in Worcester City Hospital.

He was born in Ireland, son of the late Martin and Mary (Brady) Lawless. He came to Worcester 56 years ago. He was chauffer for many years for the late Miss Harriet Clark, He retired at her death three years ago.

He was initiated into Div. 36, March 17, 1897, and last September was honored with Timothy C. Riordan, its other living charter member, at the 50th anniversary celebration in the Sheraton Hotel.

He leaves his wife, Nellie (Courtney) Lawless, five daughters, Mary A., wife of John Hogan, Miss Katherine F. Lawless, Ann T., wife of Francis H. McNamara, Margaret F., wife of John J. McNulty, all of Worcester, and Helen F., wife of Alfred Phaup of Nahant; a son, John J. Lawless; a brother, John J. Lawless of Ireland, and a sister, Mrs. Ann Wheeler of San Francisco, Calif.; a foster nephew, Thomas J. Lawless, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the Athy Memorial Home, 4 King street, Tuesday followed by a solemn high mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are today, 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and Monday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m. Division 36, A. O. H., will meet at the funeral home Tuesday night at 8 to recite the rosary."
