Mary Catherine "Kate" was the daughter of Charles Montague (born about 1799 in Ireland) and Susan Ann Elizabeth Montague who died in Columbia in February 1862. She married Charles James Bollin the latter part of 1857. They had four children - Eustace, Agnes (named after her sister Agnes Montague Caldwell), Edward, and Ellen (named after her sister Ellen Montague).
