He was born June 7, 1931, in Evansville to Lowell Stanley and Jonnie Mae (Gough) Bilderback. He married Lois Frances Meyer on August 16, 1953 in Yankee Town, Indiana.
Jim was a retired educator and school administrator. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Jubin Valley Deer Camp and a founding member of the Canadian White Trout Fish Camp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Frances Bilderback, who died in 2011.

Memorial services for James L. Bilderback were held on Saturday, May 14th, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with interment to follow at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown, Indiana.
Visitation was held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg on May 14th, 2016, the day of the memorial service.
