Marshall Leon Pressler, 68, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at St. John's Hospice.
Marshall was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Irvin and Gloria Cook Pressler. He married Peggy VanBebber.
Marshall was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He worked for P&P Construction were he retired. He was a member of Laborers Local # 477 and Painters Local # 90.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Pressler of Springfield; three sons: Mark Alan , Marshall and Matt ; one brother and five sisters; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was accorded.
Private graveside services will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Department of Defense Honor Guard and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct honors.
