Cleo was born on June 1, 1931 and was a lifelong resident and native of East Biloxi “The Point”. She was a very special lady, in as much that she had never met a stranger. She had a bubbly personality and always had a smile on her face. Cleo had never driven a day in her life, but she was always on the go, either with one of her children or grandchildren or her very special and best friend, Sylvia Rolkosky. Cleo was loved by everyone and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George Edward Meaut, Sr., her parents, Theodore and Josephine Sonnier Richard; father and mother-in-law, George Jacob and Lillian Guillotte Meaut; sisters, Margaret Broussard and Annie Mae Hebert and brothers, Theodore Richard, Jr., Jerald Richard, Sr. and Wallace Richard, Sr.
Cleo is survived by her children, sons, George “Rocky” Edward (Janet) Meaut, Jr. and Kenneth Joseph Meaut; daughters, Vicki Ann (Daniel) Myers and Georgia Lynn Meaut (Jeffrey) O’Keefe all of Biloxi; twin brother, Leo (Rosa Lee) Richard of Woolmarket and brother, Dalton (Shirley) Richard of D’Iberville; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Beulah Richard and Fern Richard; numerous nieces and nephews and of course, many, many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Blessed Francis Seelos Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
