Edith was born on July 22, 1929 to Irving and Cora (Douglas) Seiler. She and her brother Irving (Sy) grew up on lakefront property in Manitowoc, where they spent summers sailing and helping their father in his minnow business.
Edith made many friends through the years and anyone who came in contact with her, were not strangers for long. Her quick wit and smile was shared with everyone. She will always be remembered for her willingness to help anyone at anytime with anything.
She started working at the Manitowoc Goods when she was 20 years old, where she met her best and lifelong friend, Sally Geiger.
On October 18, 1952 she married Thorval (Toby) Cerull in Manitowoc, where they began their family of three children: James Cerull of Pembine WI, Sandy Coenen of Kaukauna WI, and Sue Rief of Sturgeon Bay, WI.
They moved to Amberg, WI in 1974 where they bought and operated the Northwood's Bar for 9 years. Edith and Toby were responsible for starting the Labor Day Parade and Auction to benefit the Wausaukee Rescue Squad.
Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, bird watching, playing cribbage, and enjoying a beer with family or friends. She will always be remembered for her love of Chocolate.
She is survived by her children, James Cerull, Sandy & Mike Coenen, Sue & Bill Rief; 5 grandchildren: Tye Hartwell, Philip (Michelle) Jacobs, Brooke (Brian) Thomson, Craig (Julie) Coenen, and Scott Jacobs; and 3 great grandchildren: Cash & Madelyn Hartwell (Tye) and Robert Jacobs (Philip).
The past 3 years she resided with her daughter Sandy and Mike in Kaukauna, WI. Her final request was to have a party where everyone would share stories and "have a beer on Edith."
Join us for a celebration of her life beginning at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 23 at Sandy's home: 2808 Glenview Ave., Kaukauna, WI. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc WI at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr Gregory Johnson at the Kaukauna Clinic for his compassionate care, along with the St Paul Home Hospice nurses and staff.
