Anna Douglas (Wilds) Strumquist
Anna was born in 1878 in Ballard County, Kentucky, the daughter of John Wilds and his wife Mary Hammond. She moved with her parents to Albuquerque, NM, in 1887. She attended St. Vincent's and other schools there.

About 1895, she married Ralph Hill, who died in 1902. They had three children, Ralph, John and Beatrice.

In 1904, she married John Strumquist, who operated a plumbing and heating business in Albuquerque for many years. They had one daughter, Mary.

For a time she conducted a private school for dancing, elocution and dramatic art. For many years she wrote the Society column in the local newspaper.

Anna was active for a number of years in the WCTU, and was both state and Albuquerque president of that organization. She served as member of the Bernalillo Charity Commission for 18 years. She was a life-long member of St. John's Episcopal church, a former president of the Social Order of Beauceant, and a member of Altrusa Club.

Anna died 11 Dec 1950 in Albuquerque.

STRUMQUIST—Mrs. Anna Wilds Strumquist, widow of John Strumquist. died here early Monday morning. She had made her home here for 63 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Don Breakiron, Albuquerque, and Mrs. Howard Wittenberg, San Gabriel, Cal., who is in route to this city, a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Walkup, San Ditego, who is here, a grandson Howard Wittenberg Jr., and a granddaughter, Niles Jean Breakiron.

She was a member of the St. John Episcopal Church and the Altrura Club, and past president of the Social Order of Beaucant and the W.C T.U.

Strumquist Services Set for 11 a.m. Thursday

Funeral for Mrs. Anna Wilds Strumquist, 72, who died Monday, will he at 11 a. m. Thursday in Palm Chapel of the Strong-Thorne Mortuary. The Very Rev. Lloyd W. Clarke will officiate. Mrs. Alma Wadley will direct special Women's Christian Temperance Union services which will follow. Burial will be in Fairview Park.
