SAINT JO - Veda Olivette Steadham Brogdon, 91, of Forestburg died Thursday, Nov. 16 in Muenster.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Forestburg Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Campbell and C.E. Cole officiating. Burial will be in Dye Mound Cemetery, Montague County under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brogdon was an LVN.

Survivors include three daughters, Jane Stedge of Cleburne, Texas, Margue Hess of Forestburg and Becky Scott of Waco, Texas; son, Max Brogdon of Tarrington, Wy.; sister, Lucille Cummings of Saint Jo; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Family dinner will be served at noon today at the Forestburg Community Center.

Memorials may be made to Dye Mound Church Fund or Preservation of Pioneer Cemetery of Montague. Preservation memorial should be sent to: Phyllis Berry, 5620 Dixie School Road, Nocona, Texas 76255.

Veda was born in Dye Mound to Eli & Mary Virginia Thompson
Steadham, She attended school there and finished school in Forestburg. She earned her LVN license. She married Barney Brogdon Sept. 13, 19? in Dye Mound. They lived in Forestburg since 1956. She was a longtime member of the Forestburg Methodist Church. Her memberships included
Montague County Historical Society, Forestburg School Board
lifetime member of Texas PTA, past member and state officer of the Texas LVN Association and many others. Her volunteer work included working with Girl Scouts,4-H Club and Forestburg community services. She was the second oldest of the Forestburg school graduates.

She was the first person to receive recognition for the preservation of the Montague County Historical Society, she received a lifetime achievement award from the Masonic Lodge for outstanding Citizen of Forestburg and most outstanding alumni award.

Veda enyoyed oil painting, quilting, ceramics, painting mail boxes, writing short stories about Santa Claus and writing poetry. She also enjoyed having publiished three history books
