Elizabeth (Betty) Grier Allen Age 99, a resident of Cokesbury Village, passed away Friday November 19th, 1999.
She was born March 1, 1900 in Wilmington, DE to Robert T. Grier and Ella Churnside Grier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvan Allen and her daughter, Ellen Allen Gravatt. She is survived by a grandson, Richard A. Gravatt, Jr. and wife Gladys of Winston-Salem, NC; a granddaughter, Sara Champion of Brevard, NC; 4 great grandchildren, a niece, Bunny Fagan and husband Pete of Salisbury, NC; and a very special friend, Mrs. Janet Straton of Hockessin, DE. Mrs. Allen will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at Cokesbury Village chapel on Tuesday, November 23rd at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m. with Reverend Ed Lasbury officiating.
