Mrs. Irving Hoskeer
Mrs. Viola M. Hoskeer, 73, of 83 Burke Ave., wife of Irving J. Hoskeer, died last night at Pittsfield General unit, BMC, following a short illness.
A native of North Adams and the daughter of the late George and Sarah Tallman Pelkey, she had been a resident of Pittsfield for the last 50 years.
Mrs. Hoskeer was a member of the Cheshire Order of the Eastern Star.
Besides her husband, with whom she would celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. June E. Hoover of Pittsfield; one son, Allan J. Hoskeer of Pittsfield; two brothers, James and Joseph Pelkey, both of Cheshire; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Dorgan of Cheshire and Mrs. Violet Smith of North Adams; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Wellington Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cheshire Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The omission of flowers is requested. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Hoskeer's memory.

Funeral services for Mrs. Irving P. Hoskeer were held at Wellington Funeral Home this morning with the Rev. George T. Warriner, pastor of Cheshire Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Cheshire Cemetery, where Mr. Warriner offered prayers at the grave. Bearers were John R. Rogers, Frank Z. Gifford, Charles T. Thompson Jr., Herbert Farnum, Ralph Farnum and Gary Smith.
