Bernice M. Sinkula, age 91, of 1806 18th St. Two Rivers, died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2016 with family at her side at the Atrium Post Acute Care of Two Rivers. Bernice was born in Two Rivers on Sept. 19, 1924, daughter of the late Henry and Lillian (Messman) Kappelmann. She attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1942. On June 6, 1946, she married Bernard W. Sinkula at St. Luke's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2011. Bernice and Bernie were very involved with Two Rivers Polar Bears Baseball for many years. Bernice was also very involved in scouting when her children were young, serving as past Brownie & Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leader. She also worked for Paragon Electric of Two Rivers for seventeen years, and volunteered many years at the City Polling Booths on election days. Bernice enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, and loved making candy. She also enjoyed camping trips with her family and the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include her eight children: Jane Sweetman of Port Washington, Barbara Havlinek, Manitowoc, Dennis (Mary Wagner) Sinkula, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Tom (Deanne Surmer) Sinkula, Two Rivers, Jeffrey (Debbie Schantz), Green Bay, Craig Sinkula, Two Rivers, Brian (Cathy Smid) Sinkula, Oconomowoc, and Bruce (Tammy Kappelman) Sinkula, of Wausau; her grandchildren: Michael Sinkula, Shelley Townes, Jordan Sinkula, Cassandra Garrity; Dylan, Cody, Carson Rose, and Dustin Sinkula; Ali, Kaylyn and Lindsay Sinkula; Weston, Kylee and Shayla Sinkula; Amy Reiss and Melissa Mannion; and Marie Havlinek; ten great-grandchildren: Olivia Townes; Spencer & Madison Reiss; Drew, Lily and Brendan Mannion; Amiah, Regan & Talon McVey; and Oliver Cantu. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Adeline Bauer of Kewaunee; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents and her husband, Bernie, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Arthur Havlinek and Peter Sweetman; grandson, Jeff Sweetman; granddaughter, Becky Havlinek; and seven brothers & sisters.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Concelebrating the Mass of Christian Burial will be her nephew and godson, Fr. Brian Mandel and Fr. Tom Reynebeau. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
