Calvin Ramsey Gammon Sr. passed away July 13, 2016, at his home. Born in Pittsylvania County on October 11, 1930, son of Walter and Cordie Gammon. He had six brothers and eight sisters, of which he is survived by two, Walter Gammon and Elsie Stovall. He was married to the late Betty Lou Echols Gammon. He is also survived by a daughter, Morgan Savage; son, Ramsey Gammon, Jr. (Janelle); three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and a butcher before retiring. He was a member of The First Baptist Church.
