Born in Mount Carmel on Dec. 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Adzema) Korzeniecki.
She was a 1945 graduate of Mount Carmel Senior High School.
In 1950, she married Paul J. Gaughan Jr., who survives. Her passing ended a union of 65 years. She and her husband were caregivers for their parents, a sister, uncle, aunt and two dear friends. She and her husband enjoyed listening to and dancing to big band music, vacationing at the shore, dining out and visiting antique shows. Dorothy enjoyed the beauty of nature, her dear cat Taffi and planting flowers.
Dorothy worked as an executive secretary for 20 years and as a legal secretary for 15 years until her retirement.
In addition to her beloved husband Paul, she is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as a special dear friend, Pauline Madden.
In addition to her parents, she was precededin death by her only child, Pamela J. Balatgek on Aug. 20, 2002, two brothers, John and Joseph Korzeniecki, and four sisters, Cecelia Wolfgang, Rita Lambert, Lorraine Klinger and Edna Mervine. She was the last member of her immediate family.
GAUGHAN — Dorothy Gaughan, 88, of 301 Main Street, Ranshaw. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, with Pastor Beverly Petrovich and Pastor Julian Milewski officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
