John Lemuel was the son of Robert D. and Mary Ann "Shaffer" Hardy, who are buried in Old Field Cemetery in Webster Co., MS. John Lemuel married (1) Missouri Adaline Bingham on 29 Dec 1869. They were the parents of 10 children, including two sets of twins. Missouri Adaline died on 24 Jul 1889.
On 7 Feb 1890, he married (2) Allie E. Harrison, daughter of John and Amanda "Fortner" Harrison. They were the parents of two children, including one who died at birth.
