Karen was born Sept. 12, 1968 in San Marcos, to Dennis and Cindi (Dunn) Gorka. She passed away July 19, 2006 in Richmond.
Karen is survived by her husband, Dan Hammerschmidt of Fort Collins, Colo.; her daughter, Holly; and her son, Michael, both of Fort Collins, Colo.; her parents, Dennis and Cindi Gorka of Richmond; brother, Bryan Gorka and his wife, Tanya, and their daughter, Nixon, of Tomball; her father-in-law, Al Hammerschmidt of San Diego, Calif.; her mother-in-law, Jan Jagoe of Florence, Ore.; grandparents, Charlie and Evelyn Gorka of Rosenberg; grandparents-in-law, Ben and Bernice Hammerschmidt of Riverside, Calif.; grandmother-in-law, Louise Perkins of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother-in-law, Jeff Hammerschmidt and his wife, Felicity, and their daughter, Bryn, of Palo Alto, Calif.; sister-in-law, Janelle Brown of San Diego, Calif.; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.
