Floyd J. Ludwig, 77, of Powell, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 after a long illness. Floyd was born in Denver, CO and was graduate of Knoxville Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hunley. Floyd was retired from the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge where was a Health Physics Supervisor. He was a long time member of Second United Methodist Church and was a member of the Trew Home Builders class. Floyd was member of C. H. McKinney Masonic Lodge #433 and was a 32nd Degree Mason. In life, he was an avid outdoorsman, a die-hard Tennessee Vols fan, and a voracious reader who especially loved military history.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd H. and Yvonne Ludwig. He is survived by his beloved dear wife of 55 years, Jessie; sons Mark (Kim), Greg (Cindy), Rob (Tracie), Jason (Misty); brother Maynard (Linda) and sisters Barbara Kuehl of Sterling, CO and Debbie Leavitt (Walter) of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren Mark II "Chip" (Karoline), Kendra Peterson (Greg) of Fishers, IN, Matt (Katie), Scott, McKenzie, Eric, Jake, Josh and Kaitlyn.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Saturday, July 16th 2016, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with a celebration of life service to follow at 6:00 pm with Reverend Gary Baker and Reverend Tim Paul officiating. Graveside service at Highland Memorial Cemetery Sunday, July 17th 2:30pm. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. www.rosemortuary.com
