NEW HARBOR - Pamela Leonie Lambert, 93, of New Harbor, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 14, 2016, with her loving family by her side.

Pamela was born in Cambridge, England on May 19, 1923, to Cecil and Elouise Briggs.

She spent her early years in Kent and Sussex, England. Later she attended Cheltenham Ladies College in Gloucestershire, and Harper Adams University in Shropshire. While living in Felpham, Sussex, WW II started and she joined the Women's Land Army.

While she was on holiday with her sister, Betty Briggs in Cornwall, she met Blaine Lambert, who was serving in the U.S. Navy. In 1946, she and Blaine were married in New Jersey. They went to Houlton, Maine where Blaine built their lovely home. They were happily married for 48 years until Blaine passed away. In 1996, Pamela moved to New Harbor where she loved being by the sea; it reminded her so much of the coast of England.

Pamela was a member of Extension and Garden Clubs, and was a hospital volunteer and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, crafts, crossword puzzles, bird watching, reading, and especially enjoyed family picnics at the cottage on Drew's Lake.

Pamela was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Leavitt and husband Linwood, of New Harbor, son, Rodney Lambert and wife, Marsha, of Oakland, and stepdaughter, June Pike of Montour Falls, NY; grandchildren, David Putnam and fiance Rachel of Bristol, Kristle VanHise of Raymond, Amy LaMothe and fiance Eddie of Woodland, Shane Lambert and wife, Cheryl, of Salem, NH, Pamela Weeks and husband Josh, of Crystal River, FL, Adam Lambert and wife Kristin of Lakeville, Mass., Josh Lambert and wife, Allison, of Oakland, and Steve McLauglin of Windham; great-grandchildren Maya and Joshua VanHise, Lance and Derrick LaMothe, Morgan and Brooke Lambert, Jonah and Abe Weeks, Samantha, Madison, and Taylor Lambert; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Lane, and Ella; as well as many special friends she made at Cove's Edge this past year.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, July 19, at the New Harbor Cemetery in New Harbor.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the STRONG-HANCOCK FUNERAL HOME, 612 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543. Condolences and messages for the family, may be expressed by visiting: www.StrongHancock.com
